SELF-realization
or marriage and motherhood?
This question sooner or later arises before every woman. And if in one case, a woman gratefully accepts the role of wife, mother and thereby gains the fullness of life, then in another, it is a search for compromises between personal aspirations, what she wants and what she should do.
Synopsis
Alena (33), a former artist, and now a diligent wife and caring mother, seems to be living the life of her dreams. She has a sexy, loving husband, Slava, a successful and influential lawyer, founder of a large law firm. She has a charming three-year-old son Misha, a spacious, elegant apartment. But Alena feels like she’s in a locked cage.
Slava shows strong masculine qualities, he knows exactly what he is doing, he takes his toll right away, this is how he conquered Alena from the first meeting, but now these qualities are working against her. Meeting the high standards of Glory is not easy, and resisting is even more difficult. Alena lacks self-confidence and support within to defend her personal boundaries. In rare moments when Alena is left alone with herself, she draws and feels happy.
Alena acts intuitively, feels that it is important for her to return to the profession and sends her resume to the vacancy of an artist. Her sketches make an impression and Alena is invited for an interview. So, Alena begins her career path, she, although not immediately, gets her first order and impressive prospects. Alena also meets Anton, an enterprising producer, with him Alena feels on the same wavelength and feels the beat of life, freedom, and youth. Alena is transformed and feels like herself for the first time.
But the more Alena transforms, the less Slava likes it. He is categorically against the nanny, since he already had a negative experience with the kindergarten, and Slava is also against Alena regularly leaving her son with her grandmother and a friend. Slava believes that Misha is still too small and needs his mother. But are his good intentions so pure?
Despite her husband’s ban, Alena, taking advantage of his departure, continues the projects she had begun. Conflict of interests, difference of opinions on the role of a woman in the family and compromise in the name of preserving the family - these are the main topics that the main characters will have to deal with.
STARRING
STYLE
A modern, dynamic film in black and white. The emphasis is on close-ups of the main character; often we only hear the voices of secondary characters, keeping the focus on the main character’s experiences. During the film, we only follow what happens to the heroine; there is no parallel editing. Long shots, intra-frame editing. Long-range plans when photographing the city and nature.
